Job description
Location: Various event venues
Working hours: Casual shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays
The ExcluSec Group is looking for professional, approachable SIA licensed staff to join our event team at sporting fixtures, concerts, festivals and other public events.
You’ll help keep visitors, staff and performers safe while providing a welcoming presence. The role combines event stewarding with security duties appropriate to your SIA licence, training and allocated position.
What you’ll be doing
Welcoming visitors, answering questions and directing them around the venue.
Checking tickets, passes and accreditation, and controlling access to restricted areas.
Carrying out authorised searches in line with your training and event procedures.
Managing queues and monitoring crowd movement to support safe entry and exit.
Identifying and reporting hazards, overcrowding, suspicious activity and signs of distress.
Responding calmly to disruptive behaviour, using communication and de-escalation skills.
Supporting colleagues with security incidents and requesting assistance when needed.
Keeping emergency exits, aisles and access routes clear.
Assisting vulnerable visitors and reporting safeguarding concerns.
Supporting emergency procedures and evacuations under the direction of the event management team.
Using radios professionally and completing accurate incident reports.
Attending briefings and following assignment instructions, venue policies and supervisor directions.
Working as part of the team
You’ll report to an Event Supervisor or Team Leader and work alongside stewards, security officers and venue staff.
We expect you to arrive on time, remain attentive and use sound judgement throughout your shift. You’ll handle situations professionally, treat people respectfully and carry out only those duties covered by your licence and training.
A valid SIA Door Supervisor licence is required for this position.
What to expect
This is an active, public-facing role that may involve extended periods of standing, outdoor working and busy crowds. Shifts vary according to the event schedule and may include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
You’ll receive event-specific briefings and guidance, with opportunities to develop your experience and progress into Team Leader and supervisory positions.

Good awareness of your surroundings, with the ability to spot and report safety concerns.
Comfortable following instructions, using radios and completing clear incident reports.
Able to work effectively with stewards, security colleagues and venue staff.
Available for event shifts, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
Able to carry out the duties of the role, which may involve prolonged standing and outdoor work, with reasonable adjustments considered.
Willing to complete relevant training, attend event briefings and follow assignment instructions.
